We have a guest room in our basement, with it's own full bathroom. However now that my mother's Parkinson's is so severe, DH and I move down there and give them our bedroom when they come for Shabbos and Yom Tov, as the stairs are too much for my mother to manage.
When we lived in an apartment, we often traded guest weeks with a neighbor. When we went away for Shabbos they used our apartment for guests...and vice versa.

Currently we don't have a guest room. We rarely have overnight guest and when we do either DS sleeps in the girls' room and they sleep there, or our guests sleep by neighbors (for shabbat etc.). Hopefully we will be building an addition to our house in the very near future (we're in the planning stages still) and we will have a guest unit.
