Kids are in school, dh is off. Any ideas what to do in NYC today?

I assume everything is closed. The old saying goes- " we celebrate by eating chinese and watching a movie" since only those two things are open today.

I would assume all the kosher restaurants are open. Movie theaters are open. I think the skate rink at Rockefeller center is open. What did you have in mind?

As someone who grew up in manhattan...there are plenty of things that are open in the city. Just google what to do in NY on x-mas. There are lists. I would post links, but some of the items mentioned on the list are more x-mas-ish and I don't want to offend anyone.

Just had another idea. I just got an email that Sunshine Pottery in Englewood, NJ is open. Painting/pottery might be a cute idea to do with DH. Perhaps there is places in the city that are open as well? Or if you are in NJ you can just go to englewood
