Just got a pr of red shoes; wanted to wear with a navy skirt.
But what color tights? Navy and black look a bit dark
But I feel funny wearing nude in winter.
(And red tights are a no no for me.)
Any advice?

I would say nude or navy, or maybe navy with some nice details if you find.
Which color of top will you wear? If grey maybe grey tights.
So nice that you're wearing colors!

Nude fishnet might look nice if you're looking for some texture.

To those who are saying navy, maybe sheer patterned navy. Maybe. But definitely not navy opaque with red shoes. (Unless it's patent leather burgundy shoes you're talking about.)

Or fishnets. I like the look of nude, but I
Feel odd wearing it in winter, and I don't
Want to freeze.
I ended up going for black bec I couldn't find
Navy and it looked a bit dark w the shoe.
And yes, I love color!

I love color too, and I wear red shoes, too, but I can't see how red leather shoes would go with black (opaque?) tights and a navy skirt.

hmm, that is quite a hard combination
I would say if you want to wear that, the best would be navy tights. Any other colour would just make it colour overload. Even grey, which does go with both colours, would be too many colours.
(not that there is anything wrong with wear colour at all, but having a whole mixture colours imo doesn't look easy on the eyes- I personally prefer wearing two or three colours which subtly compliment each other)

I agree navy or nude tights, but they must be thin, tight fitting, which stick and grip to the skin of your legs, not woolly or loose fitting. They don't have to be ultra thin, but not thick, they must contain elastane - this is what makes them like glue to your legs. This way tights look elegant.

it depends on the shade of the red shoes if they would look ok with black

I dont' wear bright colored tights, never tried grey. Interesting idea...

My shoe is similar to this one, but it's leather, not suede. You can see it's a dark red, not a bright or orangey red.

Definitely opaque either black with a black skirt or opaque navy with navy skirt
I buy opaque tights with a bit of lycra spandex in it so it's silky looking and very flattering
The same shoes could be worn in spring summer with nude tights
