I have gotten rid of roaches and mice myself without an exterminator. For roaches put around the Boric Acid roach powder extremely effective much more than sprays. Put it behind Appliances on the floor near the kitchen cabinets under the sinks if necessary to begin with. On the edge of counters. If there are babies sweep away by day put it out at night. For mice I bought D con poison also put into cabinets under the sink wherever u see they might be and change every few months and they will disappear
