I am starting a business where I type up the guest addresses on to the invitations for people making a simcha. I was wondering what is the going rate in nyc for a such a service?

I do that in Chicago as a sideline to my main business (desktop publishing page layout). You need to be prepared to be able to really do it right. I would ask you what kind of printer you plan to use? Very few are really suitable for this kind of work.
