What sort of garnishes/additions do you add to your hot cocoa?

What sort of chocolate bars do you melt into your hot cocoa?

I would love to hear!

marshmallows/fluff
cinnamon
cardamom
whip cream
ice cream

Thanks so much everybody!

I am particularly interested in different type of mini chocolate bars that could be melted into the beverage.

Probably the chocolate log. I'd be nervous about the filling in the other one. But I think they would both be amazing.

I've seen a recipe for mexican hot cocoa that calls for cayenne pepper! It sounds like an interesting twist, I would probably try it if I liked hot cocoa.

Or add coffee and you have a mocha

I would quicker use the caramel ...

but I personally just put in mini marshmallows ...

dd puts on whip cream & cinnamon

I've got to try the cayenne pepper ... for kicks
[I made chocolate cayenne cupcakes for dd's last birthday ~ muy caliente]

I think both caramel and mekupelet sound delicious.
my friend worked at a coffee shop (think starbucks and similar) and adviced me to add real cocoa and a hint of PUDDING POWDER. the pudding powder (I guess the strach in it) makes the consistency of the hot chocolate smooth, rich and creamy . since I do that most additional ingredients are skipped except spices (like cardamom, cinnamon or a hint of liquer).

I think mekupelet is the best. I put it in my coffee too.

I regularly make hot choc by crumbling a mekupelet and pouring boiling milk on top.
sometimes I add a bit of vanilla or mint extract
