Anyone familiar with the housing situation, knows that there's a shortage in houses in boro park- that being said, how far out would u consider buying? Would u go past bay pkwy?

Personally I would go as far out as 21st and 62nd. I would not go past Bay pkwy. Even 62 barely has yiddish families. I'm to chicken to be the first yid on the block. My kids need company. Also, I didn't find the prices to be that much lower nowadays. 3 years ago yes but not today. Some want 1mil for a 2 fam on the outskirts of boro Park.

About 10 years ago I lived (rented) on 63 and 21st. One jeeish family lived on the avenue and right before we moved, another family moved on our block. I'm sure more moved in since then, but not too many.

Can I ask how people afford housing anywhere in NYC?
What do you do for a living? What does your spouse do?
Our income is over $120K, we pay full tuition and we can barely afford a tiny apartment.

The neighborhood is definitely expanding and while there are some Jewish families past Bay Parkway, it seems to act like the Flatbush Avenue line in Boro Park, most don't live past it and I don't see it changing any time within the next few years (although 10-15 it may).
I would go as far as 21st and Bay Parkway and 64.
