At what point did noserings become more uncommon and/or not as accepted?
Seems like it was the norm in the ancient civilizations, around 2,500 years or so ago.

so was it an actual nose ring or a nose jewel. like a crown like thing on the head that extends to the forehead and nose.

Ruchel and Octopus, that makes sense.
How could they have have pierced noses in a hygienic fashion in those days? A hanging nose jewel makes more sense.

They pierced ears, why not noses? Hygiene wasn't a thing.

shock Doesn't sound too hygienic to me, but apparently it was a done thing back then. Compared to that, a tiny needle through the nose would be a pinprick!
