My mil bought my son an expensive outfit for YT. It has linen in it- it's 55% linen 45% rayon lining, 100% polyester, made in dominican republic. Does this need to be checked for shatnez? I can just return/exchange it so its not a big deal. at 2 yo he can have a fancy outfit or not, it makes no difference. so just curious if I need to get it checked, I'll just return it.

the basic precept is that the mitzva of shatnez is incumbent upon male/female adult/child ...

it would be cheaper to have the outfit checked for shatnez than to return it and/or insult mil [since you didn't pay for it anyways]
