Zero.

I filed for bankruptcy after my divorce. The guys I dated didn't want to marry someone with debts.

We had close to 20,000. We couldn't keep up with all the monthly minimums so we stopped paying them. On the advice of my accountant, when the company's called to ask for $, I asked to make a settlement. We pretty much cut out debt in half by doing that. Only thing is you have to have the agreed upon amount available. We had it as we keep a few thousand in savings in case we need it in an emergency and for upcoming bar mitzvas.

Cut up the credit cards.

Call the credit company for a "settlement" price and payment plan.

Don't spend money you don't have to spend. Don't borrow money but do accept help.

You might have to take from tzedakah but this is the shortest and least problematic road to be on your own financial feet again.
