I went to the Dr today with my son for his first visit. The Dr looks at my baby's "thing" and she tells me it doesn't look straight. She said either he could have been born that way or the bris made it not straight. I'm a first time mom. Please let me know if anyone has ever had that said before.

It happened to my first son.
After the bris the way it healed was curved. I think the mohel cut too much and the scar tissue pulled the eiver curved.
Its been many years and my son never noticed or had any issues. I think it straightened out somewhat over time but I wouldnt know at this point anymore!

My pediatrician noticed this when my son was four and sent us to a neurologist. It was a one minute appointment. If it doesn't curve when erect then it's no problem. (Your bathroom might get dirty until your son figures it out)

It's a fairly normal phenomenon. No need to worry now. (I won't tell you how I know Wink )

When you train him to go the bathroom, you will see if it affects his aim... and take it from there.

This is normal. He will probably grow out of it, but you should keep an eye on it. To Torah, Chupa and maasim tovim!!

My son had it also. When he is ready to use the bathroom he will have to aim a bit to the side or you will be cleaning all the time lol.

I was told that not to do anything until adulthood and see how it is and then if it has to be fixed it is a minor tuck as my urologist put it. No big deal.

Op here... To all that is saying that it's normal, did your son have a normal recovery from the bris? My son's bris is still recovering and it looks like he was cut a bit much and the skin is pulling to one side.

thats exactly what happened to my son.
afterwards when I saw how curved it ended up, I regretted not pulling it straight while it was healing. I thought that maybe if I had encouraged the scar tissue to form straight it wouldnt be curved. but at the time it was just too scary to poke around in a wound.

you can ask a dr or mohel if this is a good idea or not. you can get a second opinion by another mohel since the first one will never admit to cutting too much.

ultimately I didnt do anything and it really wasnt a big deal.

Op here once again Wink

So I was worried enough to make my mohel worried so he came done with another mohel. They looked seriously at it (my husband and I were both present at the time) and they both said it's good BH!
