The amother above with the two lengthy responses is brilliant. I agree with every single word. Pity she's amother.

You need to take parenting classes. We all need to. Talk to a therapists also. Is your response too calm and calculated?

Yes, amother's response was eloquent, accurate, and helpful. OP, take it to heart. Re-read this entire thread, please.

I too am crying about your dd.
I am crying about all the hurt and frustrations she feels.
I am crying about a broken soul begging for someone to help her and love her.

Please cry with your daughter. Hug her tightly and tell her how much you love her.
Cry with her, before she grows up and you cry alone watching what may become of her.

it could be I'm wrong. Im no expert.

I just think smashing a window is pretty extreme for an otherwise normal kid. Perhaps something is going on with her that no one knows

a kid who just out of no where smashes a window needs help. an 8 yo who has been locked out of the house after her kid sister messed up her stuff and is trying to communicate (albeit inappropriately) and feels unheard and smashed a window is kinda normal. maybe not typical, but still normal.

I don't think that her smashing the window means therapy. She didn't do it on purpose. dd7 that teased dd8 a second time may need some help.
