Delicious with mashed potatoes also. It is a matter of taste. My bil is crazy for it. My kids hate it. Depends on your crowd.

I mix the fried onions with duck sauce and ketchup. It is scrumptious and eliminates a step in making the deli roll.

What step does it eliminate? Do you use ketchup and duck sauce in your deli rolls? I use mustard.

Hmmmm maybe I'll make one roll with the onions and one without and see which goes over better. I usually smear duck sauce and mustard on puff pastry. That should go well with the onions.

I do fried onions in a phyllo pastry roll with meats, mustard and sometimes a duck sauce wash. Delicious.
