Just a personal tip from experience. Swimming is great for relaxation. For weight loss and shaping you are much better of with an aerobics class, pilates or yoga, at least twice a week. You will feel better and see quicker results. Good Luck and hope you can do it for a while! Hatzlacha

Swimming is great! Go fast or slow, it will tone you up! especially the arms!

OMG I went swimming today. First time in 20 yrs. And it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!. Till now. Now im in sooooooooooo much pain. I did laps for a hour. I did freestyle and butterfly. My arms and legs hurt. Its only once a week so I will get used to it.

I swim too! Except I "doggy paddle" across the pool for 20 minutes! And yes you feel it when you are done! GOOD FOR YOU

Give it one day. Take some motrin and nice hot showers. This pain is good, your're building muscle.
Keep on swimming, Im so impressed you can swim the butterfly! I have swimmer envy!
Where I swim, Im surrounded by people in their 70's and 80's swimming laps. They are incredible!

When I was there I got a few compliments on how well I swim. I told them that I grew up in Australia were we get taught to swim all the different strokes yr round in school and most people have swimming pools in their backyard.
