This was so much fun to make and serve!
In the middle:

Done and ready to bake:

Ready to serve:

Wasn't too hard to make. I used pre-made puff pastry dough (batzek alim in Israel) instead of making my own, frozen spinach squeezed out, and ricotta or 50% hardened g'vina levana (like farmer cheese).

instructions:sunny spinach pie

Gorgeous! Great Shavous idea! One problem though, no spinach lovers here. Do you think brocolli would be good instead? Any other adaptation suggestions welcome!

I get facebook notifications from Diply mostly with these ideas. I saved them all and made 99% of what I wanted to for our bar mitzvah party.

For sure, broccoli would work as would mushroom/onion mix with parsley/basil to make it green.

Dens can you please post the recipe for the broccoli potato filing you'll use? I Also wanna make it was planning to do a spinach/potato filling but can't find spinach. Potatoes alone will not be colorful enough and not as pretty so broccoli potato sounds nice!

Wow! Looks stunning! Any ideas of a tasty non dairy filling? I dont mind spinach or broccoli, or something else, but need a recipe so it wont be bland

Since some of the kids really can't stand spinach I was thinking of making mushroom. That can be milchig or pareve.

Would this work for a pareve filling?

Squeeze out water from frozen spinach, add onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, mustard and mayo. Mix well. Mix the spinach mixture with canned salmon.

That actually sounds good, but I want to use it as a side dish and with fish in it it sounds more like an appetizer or entree-too filling. I am looking for sonething with just veggies and spices. Think spinach with spices and flour to thicken it or broccoli with spices and flour would work? Or maybe a whole shredded/masshed veggie mixture?

I love the idea of potato spinach- how would you do that- or do you think using the inside of an eggroll recipe would work here as well?

17 oz of flour is a little less than 4 cups.
