Vegetable soup (not a protein, but very filling)
Greek salad (not a protein, but filling)

I don't think you need another protein. If you really want to send more stuff I would suggest soup and/or some cut up fruit.

I don't think you need more protein, but if you want to anyway, just send hard boiled eggs. they're kid friendly and can stay in the fridge for a while.

I would send a cooked vegetable dish that goes well with falafel, eg fried eggplant salad, roast peppers, roast potatoes. Its not a protein but I like that with falafel.
You could also send a frittata or other egg dish.

Felafel + pita is enough protein IMO, because legume (chickpeas) + starch = a complete protein.

How about a broccoli quiche? I make this recipe:

and put it in a pie crust to make it more filling. It's easy to make. The only thing is if you make this recipe and put it in a pie shell you will have leftover batter so you will have to either pour the little extra in a separate small pan or make like 1/2 or 2/3 of the recipe.
