My family is going away for Shabbos, staying with a family whom I don't know, but DH knows the husband. They are kindly hosting us for meals and sleeping. We are bringing dessert; I bought a pretty platter as a gift, and here is what I need advice on -
- should I bake cookies (a few varieties) AND/OR coffee cake which would be wrapped separately
- cookies only and a precut store bought fruit platter
- slice the coffee cake and give it on the platter with precut store bought fruit platter
- the pretty platter with cookies/cake is enough, fruit is overkill
Yeah, I'm a dork. Its ok.

For a whole shabbos I would bring the platter with cake or cookies plus fruit. I don't think you need cake AND cookies but if you do bring both I'm sure they won't mind!
