I am preparing butternut squash soup for our dairy seudah. I am following the recipe in a cookbook, but suddenly realized there are no instructions for seasoning!
the ingredients are a butternut squash, celery, parsnip, carrots and onion, sauteed and then cooked with water to cover- coupla cubed potatoes added later.
I havent made this recipe before, and dont really know which spices would work. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions, as it's already on the stove!

a dash of nutmeg and/or cinnamon would go nicely with butternut squash.

I am just putting up my dairy butternut squash soup and my recipe calls for
sautéed onions and garlic
light cream
water
milk
salt
pepper
nutmeg
