Check out the city mini GT. It has all terrain wheels (as opposed to the regular city mini's plastic wheel) and an adjustable pushbar. According to the manufacturer, you can use it with a newborn (if you get a neck support pillow) since it reclines to a near flat position. It weighs 20.9 pounds (relatively light weight) and can be used with kids up to 65 pounds

I have the valco snap and it was under 300.I used it for my newborn and it has a bar to put the carseat on as well but the handle bar is not adjustable.it is super light weight at 13lbs and has a really easy push.

Op here: from personal experience, which of all these strollers is best for pushing on extremely bad sidewalks? And which is the lightest?
Also air tires vs reg tires?
We had a double stroller w air tires but the inner tube stopped working very quickly so the tires kept deflating. How do you deal w that issue?

Baby Jogger City Select has an adjustable handlebar and is very good with uneven terrain. I suggest you check your local craigslist ads. You can get some great deals on CL and everything is negotiable! I just got my latest stroller there (Valco Trimode) and it is in BRAND NEW condition, seriously it looks new (I am so lucky). Our City Select is great though and we still keep it in the car, I just needed something more versatile to push three kids. Good luck!

I used the BabyTrend jogging stroller from the time my child was an infant, until 5 years of age. I'm short (5'1), and the height worked very well for me. I used the stroller on cracked sidewalks, bumpy streets, beaches, hiking trails, boardwalks -pretty much every surface under the sun. As for the weight of the stroller, I'm unsure if you mean for carrying ease, or pushing ease. It pushed like a dream, but carrying would have been difficult for me. I never experienced any inner tube problems, but that sounds like a manufacturing flaw, which is something the company should be able to fix or replace for no charge.

The weight of some strollers worries me bec I'm not very strong and need to get the carriage up an out door flight of stairs.

Hey OP. I'm also really physically small and not strong, and I totally hear your worries about a heavy stroller. I think the best stroller for the needs you describe is the City Mini GT, especially if it is still on sale and so cheap like it was this winter. Air tires bump up stairs more easily than non-air tires, and the push is supposed to be great on cracked pavement terrain.

(Another stroller that would be super for your needs is the Valco Snap4WD, with air tire extra pack--it's lighter, with 4 wheels rather than 3, and narrower and has bigger wheels--but it is also above your $300 price range.)

I don't have much first-hand experience with it, but maybe also consider the Mamas and Papas Armadillo?
