This might sound like a dumb question, but I really do need help. I bought a bunch of really cute patterned skirts for the summer. The only problem? I have no tops to wear with it.
These skirts require plain white tops. Like a white shell or plain white tee. Where do I get that?! Do you ladies know of any shell companies that can be worn plain and won't look ridiculous?
Linda Leals--at least on me--look awful without anything on top. Kiki Rikkis are see through in white and tear in two seconds. I know there are so many more shell companies, but I don't know which one meets my needs.
I guess I'm looking for a white shell that won't be see through, looks good on it's own as a tee, is fitted in a flattering way, not in a my-boobs-are-popping-out way.
Anyone have info on this magical shell I'm looking for??? Anon because I've discussed this irl.
TIA!!

Forget a shell: they're too tight. Just get a plain white t. I love talbots and have their solid colored tshirts in all colors, including white

Superdani, thanks for the tip! I'm also having a hard time finding the perfect tee.I looked at the shirt onTalbot's sit and it seems to be what I'm looking for. A few questions: Do the shirts run true to size or should I size up ? Does the neckline look the same as on the model IRL, or does it fall below the collarbone?

I've been living in the gap essential long-sleeve t-shirts for weeks now. So comfortable, not see-through, and not too hot, even in this heat!

They change the tees slightly each year (and I haven't bought ones this year as BH I'm expecting) so I can't say for cetain, but mine cover. I am 5"3, medium build (wear a size 8 or so) with large breasts (d) and my perfect size is petite/petite (I like that it's not too long, just till the waist) or small (if petite isn't available) if I were you if buy a whole bunch in different sizes and send back the ones that don't work

I think any shell would do, just buy a bigger size so it looks like a top, not a shell. Btw, I have seen people go around wearing only a tight fitting shell, which I wouldn't do, but just to say...

If you wear boatneck, these are great:

I have this one - style is a little casual by the sleeves but the white is fine with a nude bra. And the shirt is cheap...

Alternatively, I wear a fitted white linen button down (sold really everywhere) with the sleeves rolled up, tucked into nicer skirts and casual skirts, full or straight.

The shell station has a 'cotton' shell (90% cotton, 10 spandex) that has a great shape. Looks really good with a nice skirt. Especially the 3/4 sleeve option.

I bought three dot tees from Junees, they are not boatneck..they cost 36.00 and come in different colors..need to try on bc I think they run small.

I don't know what lands end has now, but many times they have great ts with good collars.
Also you can try changing up the color of the t to match the pattern in the skirt, rather then just white.
Or what about a cardigan in a color that matches the skirt?

Am I the only one who buys cheap T's at Target and wears them backwards?

Landsend's ts all have very short sleeves.
I. am. so. ridiculously. frustrated.
It's basically next to impossible to find a 3/4 sleeve t with a collar.
