ds spotted it on the basement window (on the outside). It is small, as of now. How am I going to get rid of this thing??????

You spray the nest with wasp spray at night after the critters have gone to bed.

I also had one outside... Sprayed the spray at night and BH it worked!

You want to spray at dusk, not night, because in this heat they often become more active as it cools down at night. Get the spray and really, really, really soak the nest. Check the next day for any signs of life, and if you do, spray it again that dusk.
