I like where we are, I like our apartment, I like our location, I like our neighbors. BUT it's getting too small, and we really need to upgrade. Just looked at an apartment that has many advantages, but also quite a few disadvantages. How do I make this decision?

For starters you need to make a list of what you want in an apartment, what are priorities and what can slide. That'll give you a better picture of the category in which your potential apartment lies.

Good luck with this difficult decision!

Based on my experience, there is no perfect apartment. You will have to settle on something...

See if you can somehow stay in your present apartment. It is not worth moving if you have good friends and neighbors where you live. I know from experience. I was feeling that our one-bedroom apartment was too small when I was expecting my third. A neighbor was begging me to stay. I regretted afterwards the move.
