my brother is getting engaged this week beh. I am looking for:

a. a gift to give the kallah (he has no sisters only brothers)

b. other ways to make her feel part of out family.

disclaimer, my db is well off and has bought her loads of super expensive gifts so I do not want to try and get her something expensive/fancy (I cant compete lol)

all ideas welcomed

Your post doesn't make sense. Aren't you your brother's sister?

I'm guessing op made a typo - kalla has no sisters, only brothers.

My SIL bought me a recipe book when I got engaged. I found that so thoughtful! I think anything for the kitchen would be nice, since that's more of a woman's domain - spice rack, fancy towels, etc.

To include her-call her, invite her to lunch, get to know her. But don't be pushy or intrusive, only sweet and supportive.

Mazal tov!

Photo album or scrap book- with a few starter pages w. photos of family members & their names--- & maybe them adding something at the vort in the book--

It would help her to figure out who everyone is & give everyone a chance to write something to her.

I was going to suggest the album idea too.

My sisters-in-law made me the photo book and I was so touched (wish they labled e/o name's though) and then by my shower they collected the family's typical recipes and recipes that my hubbie loves and I was so so excited by it!

To make her feel welcome, offer to go out with her for a bite or drink whenever it works for her, or to go shopping with her if she wants another opinion on s/t.
