Of course, there were always cheaply made clothes available but they are not the REAL thing. Girls know what's real and what's not. They enjoy buying one real thing than 10 fake ones. And the fake ones can be bought wholesale even cheaper... from a Chinese company in NJ.

Really? I think as a kid I would have been much more excited about ten dresses to choose from than one or two. I resorted to sewing clothing for my doll. I was not particularly skilled at sewing
