Are any imamothers court reporters? How many years is the schooling? How many hours do you work? How much do you earn?
I am considering going into this field and want more information from anyone who is there already.

I just graduated from school in this field. Unless you're very gifted, the time to complete the program is usually three years, and requires 3-4 hours of practice/study every day. The schooling is h*ll, and you should only attempt it if you have the time, patience, discipline and motivation. You'll also need to have a good command of the English language, and good English language skills.
Once you get out of school, the most popular options are officials in court, freelancing for an agency, captioning for television etc., or CART for the hard of hearing.
The pay is pretty decent, but there's usually lots of "homework" if you're needed to complete a transcript after hours.
