I wasn't sure if I should post this in working women or special needs...

Hashem sent us someone to be a para for our nearly 3yo. However, she has no BOE or agency experience, and now I am to figure out how to 'sign her up,' so to speak. I don't know the first thing to do!

If you are a para and could PM me even, and wouldn't mind talking me through this, it would be AMAZING!

Please do reply, school is starting soon!!

She should probably work through an agency, who will take a cut of her pay to help her get her paperwork in order, provide required training, and do billing. I worked for Comprehensive http://www.comprehensivenet.com/index.php

Thank you for some feedback. Who is the contracted agency for CPSE? Does anyone know for sure?

Is there a difference between a 'health para' and a 'regular para?' Are there other shadow classifications?

You're right I should pm mb.

Did you mean like Medicaid service coordinator? Or ei? (It's a cpse thing)

You can just call the agency. To get the agency, ask CPSE service coordinator (person that gave you the services at your meeting).

Preferred Services was the contracted company last year. I believe their number was 718 831 7979.

There are 2 types of paras, health para and crisis para. What does your IEP say?
