Lice. What do you do about tefillin when a boy has lice?

Am diligently sterilizing everything that touches the head: pillowcases, bedding, kippah clips, girls' pony tail clips, kippot - and putting delicate things like hats and especially nice kippot into ziploc bags until we get rid of this.

Obviously am combing diligently and delousing according to package direcitons.

But tefillin? They go directly on the head and hair. You wouldn't delouse then put the same hat back on. Is there a practical solution to laying tefillin while a family is getting rid of lousy lice?

Lice lady here.

I would check them every time after he uses them. Make sure there is no hair on them and they are clean with no specks etc.

If there was a bug you would see it and if there were nits they would most likely be attached to a hair.

Continue your combing you will be fine

If there is a tfillin loan gmach, borrow a pair for him and then take the tfillin in question and put it in a zip lock bag for 2 days. It will kill anything on it.
