It's not Brooklyn of the 5 Towns, but it is Long Island. The Stride Rite outlet in New Hyde Park on Union Turnpike. They often have buy one, get the second at 50% off.

L'elegante is on 13th between 42nd and 43rd, They have cheaper shoes about $40 but they also have expensive so make sure to tell them when you come in.
Daniel's is on 13th and 45th. They are the shoe store with all the $2 headbands in the front of the store. I never bought shoes there but I did have a friend you used to go there and she said they had good prices.
