Is it possible to make yapchik on the blech and not in a crock pot?
If so I would really appreciate an exact foolproof recipe.

I've done it in the oven overnight on yomtov.
I keep chulent on the plata overnight on shabbat so what I would do is bake in the oven on 225° covered for around 7 hours and then transfer to the plata right before shabbat.
