And many people really want guests. I definitely had this experience as a student and later, when I lived here single. I had 2 families I went to because they really wanted guests. I was a social outlet for the mother and a pleasant change for the kids. If I was just eating there, I would be sure to eat before I came/after I went home. They knew I was a small eater and "don't like" chicken/meat. I think it is a great chinuch experience!

I was doing a seminary search and just came across this. Why would someone object to their daughters helping to clean up or eating by poor people? Don't you want to teach them how lucky they are in life, to appreciate the good they have, and how everyone doesn't have it so easy? The seminary experience should be about more than studying and being pampered. They need to learn about life, which includes looking outside one's self.
