Anyone heard of this? Getting a prescription from an orthopedist and a local shoe store will give you a pair of your choice for your child? Or is it just a bunch of illegal "shtick"?

It's probably for orthopedic shoes...? I don't know, but I don't see why else insurance would cover shoes...

I heard about it from someone in Lakewood that if your kid wears orthotics, they will throw in a pair of shoes (regular, nice high end company). I never heard of it in Brooklyn and my kid wears orthotics. I don't even get them in the same place. Orthotics places have orthotics and shoe places have shoes.

Nope. My kids needs orthodics and I am buying her regular shoes to be made into orthodics.

My dd needs arches now. Is this only united healthcare or any other insurance under medicaid? Also, who can give me such a script the pediatrician or the dr who does the arch?
