Just started packing a lunchbox for my DD (5.5) in Sr. K.
I have no idea how much food is reasonable to pack for her morning snack, lunch and for a snack during aftercare (runs until 5pm).
For tomorrow I packed:
-Cream cheese sandwich (without crusts, of course...)
-a yogurt tube
-some veggies and dip
-3 pickles
-a large, sliced up apple
- a nature valley granola bar

How long is her day? What/how much would she typically eat at home during the time she will be in school?
I pack my kids' lunches based on the answers to those questions, so a kid in Kindergarten until 1 doesn't get the same style lunch as a 4th grader who comes home at 4:30.
My kindergartner gets
a fruit or fruit salad for am snack (according to school regulations )
a sandwich or pasta for lunch
squeezable apple sauce
snack size yogurt
veggie and dip
some sort of cookie or cake
a filling snack for carpool (granola bar, pretzels, trail mix, etc.)
He usually leaves something over, but I'd rather one snack too many than one snack too few.
