Yes this is a new feature we just added today. I thought of it because I am often asked to change posts to amother when posted by mistake under a username. I felt bad for Imamothers who are embarrassed by a personal non anon post showing up under her username until I am made aware of it.
The ability to edit is great for typos and adding more details instead of having a couple of posts one after the other by the same op.
If an amother writes something nasty and then edits it herself that would be just great. After all, the point of reporting a post is so a mod can edit out the nasty bits. If amother does it herself because she regrets what she said that is really helpful.

Can you add to the feature the tagline on the bottom of the post, "edited at x:00 p.m. yada yada"?

I think it may hold people accountable.

After editing an amother post it does show up as edited by amother, as long as there has already been a response. Same as with editing a regular post.

I think that under your username you can only delete a post that is the last in the thread.

It seems that it doesn't show up edited as amother. If username post was edited and tagline showed up that it was edited, when switched to amother, tagline remains and username in tagline switches to amother.
