We've gone through several sponge-type mop heads recently b/c they get moldy/mildewy very quickly--even with hanging it up to dry in a well lit and ventilated area. My DH is allergic to mold so he's sensitive--and also it just STINKS. I just feel it's a waste of money to keep buying new mop heads. I don't mop too often, and sometimes just use some water to loosen the shmutz. I also try to squeeze out the excess liquid. Any ideas what I can do?

Look for a mop with a machine washable mop head.
