Post fast: salmon, new potatoes, salad, fruit. Traditional break the fast on honey cake and coffee.

For the first meal it is fine (some eat 2 seudos erev yom kippur). I think you aren't supposed to eat it after davening mincha IIRC. But it could be I'm forgetting.

I find this 2 meal thing on erev yom tov fascinating. It's not that I don't know that there's a mitzvah to eat on erev Yom Kippur, but don't people work? Do people take the day off to have special seudah? Or do people who have these seudahs live in israel where they might have Friday off anyway?

Working people can eat a sandwich for lunch. I think washing on bread makes it a seuda. That's what my dad did when he had to work on Erev Y"K.

Yeah, I got that. My comment was I guess specific to those who have listed their detailed (non sandwich) menu for a Midday seudah.

Both DH and I am only working until chatzos erev yom kippur. I'm guessing We'll eat around then and prepare every thing the night before. Or you can always have a sandwich.

Its a busy afternoon so it will be a short meal. (DH goes to the mikva, long mincha, goes to parents for bracha, etc).

mix cornflake crumbs with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

Clean and dry 2 1/2 lbs chicken cutlets.
Cut into nugget sizes.
Dip chicken in egg and then the cornflake crumbs.
Bake in a grease baking pan at 370 for about 25 minutes or until done.

mix:
1 cup duck sauce
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sesame seeds

Pour on top of chicken and reheat until heated through.

I'd love to hear more about the 2 meals on Erev YK. When does the first one get eaten and when is the second one? You wash for challah for both meals?

My husband and I will both eat a regular lunch at work. Then we will have mushroom barley soup, a whole roast chicken with crispy potatoes and challah . Breakfast will be soup and challah and maybe a strawbberry banana smoothie.

We have our first meal slightly early lunch and second just before the fast. And we wash for both meals. I think the reason is because erev yom kippur is also a bit like a yom tov and its a mitzvah to eat, so we have two seudos.

Before
Chicken, snitzel, soup, pasta, roast pototoes, salad,

I personally will eat beans with the chicken as I find them good for before the fast as give long term energy. I find sugar and carbs not good before a fast

Yom kipper kids
Cholent
coldcuts
hardboiled eggs
challah
Nash

After fast leftovers

My sister will be in my house with her kids on yom kippur and to break fast s I need more food
