My 10 year Old DD developed a terrible twitch on her face. She kind of creases her face in a horrible way every 10 seconds or so.
This isn't the type that comes and goes. I've had those with my other children.
I need to treat this somehow. She's getting so annoyed at herself.
Do I start with the ped? Which specialist deals with this?
And most of all, can this always be treated because I'm freaking out that she may stay with it permanently, g- d forbid.

It can possibly be PANDAS as well. Explore that with your pediatrician.

Based on similar experience with DS:
Many children go through stages where they develop tics. Usually, they go away on their own. But if it persists for several months (or if over the course of several months it morphs into another twitch or tic), you should contact a pediatric neurologist. The diagnosis may be Tourette's.
