She was talking to a younger sibling and said "hotty you are so naughty"
I was shocked, but I asked where she heard tt hat and she said baubie. Baubie isnt frum, but she swears she didnt say that.

She is in pre k, but otherwise home. No tv. Not sure where she picked it up...

Shpuld I be concerned? It doesnt sound like something she could have picked up from another 4 year old.

If you live in Brooklyn, she could have heard it walking down the street...

What, if she's with another person she's deaf? believe it or not, bad language abounds even in "nice" areas, even nowhere near Brooklyn. The expression sounds like a phrase from a raunchy song, which could have been blasting from a car on the street, or from a store, just as easily as spoken by someone passing by. Children have excellent hearing, way better than adults, and they have an amazing ability to latch on to exactly the language you don't want them to pick up. Probably because the words are short and usually said on the loud side.

while the expression "hottie" is less than refined, it's not as if she used an actual "expletive deleted". And she most assuredly could have picked it up from another 4-year-old. maybe a 4-year-old with a teenage sister who talks that way with her friends.
