Post office lost my package. I spent $34 to ship it.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes. I sent important documents via certified mail. The person never went to the post office to pick it up they shipped it back to me but to the wrong address. The usual mailman was on vacation so there was no way for them to figure out where the package went to and its still lost.

Insurance and or tracking might help you for next time... Or do mail with a Time due-like 2 day mail if it's important. Then if doesnt arrive they will reimburse you shipping costs plus whatever the insurance will cover. The post office is notoriously slow and misplaces stuff all the time.

Call the post office and tell them what happened. They should open a case for you. Usually if your package doesnt arrive with in two days of you opening the case, they re-investigate.
This has happened to me and they always found my lost mail quickly.

Thanks. I did open a case. It's a 15 lb box and it's old stuff so I don't have receipts for everything, which is why I didn't insure it.
Next time I will send it 2-day though.
