Does anyone know much about this? I am skinny but have a rather small but still there stomach. I did the Diastasis "test" and was able to fit in 1 or maybe 1.5 fingers in my belly button. right above and right below the belly button my muscles were very tight with no separation at all.
Does anyone know if this type of situation is considered to be a Diastase? I am doing pilates and am not scared I have been making it worse
Some websites say there should be no separation, others say only above 2 is a problem

I have lately read a TON of info about this on the internet, as well as watched some youtube videos, but I would also love to hear from someone else who dealt with it successfully

I also can't figure out if I have one or a hernia- during preg my OB said it was an abdominal hernia but now I wonder if it is or a diastasis, since it doesn't always bulge but it is very painful.

I would trust your ob. Diastasis recti isn't painful.

Diastasis Recti is if it is like over 2 fingers separation, it also does not hurt.

I have DR after 4th child. Listen to your OB and care for your hernia!

DR doesn't hurt, but makes room for a hernia to pop out, which does hurt. And requires medical attention!!

Once your hernia is better then I suggest you talk with your Pilates instructor (if u have one) about the DR. Mine has me avoiding certain movements and for other exercises, I use my hands to push the DR closed and those muscles into place.
