Hi guys,
ya knows those movies that make you feel warm on the inside.
I need good suggestions.
I like that type that make me think a bit, good acting, good plot, something to learn. something relaxing.
I like sports if that helps.
anything to suggest?

Someone was just recommending a film to me tonight - 'Frances Ha' about a dorky, socially awkward dancer. It sounded pretty good. (disclaimer: person recommending wasn't frum, and I haven't seen it)

I was thinking of more movies while I was in the shower (I don't watch a lot of movies and haven't seen in a WHILE) but another one I really loved was 'what to expect when you're expecting' it had the great acting, was funny and sad at times, and I came away with a great feeling (and then I watched it again Smile)

Rudy is a nice uplifting underdog sports story. (I saw this as a kid, and my parents who had watched it in advanced muted 1-2 instances of words like
Hidden:

bullsh*t
, but otherwise clean.) Like my then 5-year-old brother summarized it, "Rudy is little but he tries SO HARD!"

And I will always, always, find an excuse to post Groundhog Day on a movie recommendation thread. SEE IT!

Do you like musicals or animated movies? I find plenty of "kid stuff" by Pixar or Dreamworks is well-written enough to watch even without kids in the room. Smile

Oh my. I was just going to say that one.
I've watched it about 3 times already. Got me every time!
You really can watch the whole thing on youtube.

Remember the Titans (football)
Akiela and the Bee
October Sky
Pursuit of Happyness
To Sir with Love
Freedom Writers
The Help

Enjoy!
