If you refuse to inoculate your child under5 with yearly flue shot they will be kicked out of school. What do we do. Which schools except waivers

GETTING a waver just for the flu shot is next to impossible.

A waver is an all or nothing thing.

That depends on the state actually.

I am actually surprised that New York City can constitutionally mandate vaccines, as I thought it was a state's legal jurisdiction. But I'm not a lawyer, so what do I know?

I guess I wasn't the only mother to receive a note regarding the flu vaccine. I'm pretty upset. It feels very invasive. This should be a choice.

We got a phone call. I hate that I have to, but my DC also keeps getting sick in daycare, so while I'd rather not vaccinate, I'd also rather she and her classmates not get sick

wouldn't we all. if the flu shot didn't leave a person still unprotected against 90% of the 200 flu-like viruses, and didn't also increase a person's risk of respiratory infections, maybe it would actually be worthwhile towards that end...

isn't there an option of a religious exemption?

My kids don't get flu shots and I haven't gotten any phone calls or letters yet. (Private schools in NYC) I also found out for sure yesterday that one of my
Children is not up to date on vaccines. I thought so, but I wasn't sure. Ped was surprised that the school didn't notify me or refuse admission.
