Yes. Many kids will bully other kids with similar stuff, and also adults who let it. He must punish, send them away from class, tell the principal. If the principal doesn't support, then he can only punish, brush it off, or quit.

I went to public school. My German teacher tried to commit suicide due to intense "bullying" that way.

Some of the bullying, like about disabled children, is nothing he can tolerate, same for bad words/insults.

Now, some tips (I'm Euro, again, so make it what you can)

DO NOT share sensitive, adult info to kids
DO NOT be a buddy who opens his heart
DO NOT see them on your level
DO NOT tolerate bullying or it WILL escalate, and yes it can end up in hitting. Read Laura Ingalls on this, or modern studies.

I taught PS kids, community school kids, MO school kids, charedi kids. The ONLY PLACE I would consider teaching again is charedi/chssidish/Litvish/Yeshivish. If not, I'll do private tutoring but not handle a class full of them.
