Help- about to make some red lentil soup as requested by my eigth year ol- I first checked the red lentils on a whiote plate and saw nothing , but now I have them soaking in water an d a few pieces of hard yellow curved things have floated to the top as well as some black things that look like thyme. are these bugs???

I think the yellow thing are sprouted bits of lentil, but the black bits, I dunno... when I had a bag of infested lentils, there were loads of black bits and also webbing in the packet.
