We invited a couple over for shabbos, and for different reasons I really want to impress them. so please post your stunning sides recipes. I don't mind the patchke, if only I can prepare it in advance.

double or triple layered kugel or individual servings,
fancy salad with a dressing on the side,
that's all I can think of now.

1. Near East wild rice + tiny diced roasted sweet potato + scallions + craisins. This is the easiest thing ever and it looks really beautiful.
2. Apple crisp inside baked apples: Bake mini lady apples in wine + apple juice until soft. Core them and fill them with diced apple, lemon juice, cover with a crunch topping. It looks amazing
