Looking to buy a new mp3 player or ipod. It will be used to listen to music, shiurim and also needs to be able to record.

Would you recommend an ipod or an mp3 player?
What brand and model mp3 player and which ipod?

Also - would love a good deal obviously Smile

As far as I know iPods don't let you record, unless that changed since I did the research a few years ago.

We are using a Sansa which works well.

Sansa is cheap and gets good reviews, much more budget-friendly than an ipod.

Its the weirdest thing! I cant find it now. Literally ordered it a half hour ago, and now its not there. Its from a new seller, maybe he only is selling one? Or I bought the last... who knows!!

Sorry for getting your hopes up! But I'm sure there will be amazing deals on Cyber Monday and I'll regret buying this today... so let me know what you find Smile

If it hasn't been shipped out yet, see if you can cancel your order...

I did that. Waiting to see what the seller responds. Thanks for the information though. I really appreciate it! Couldve always returned it afterwards when we realized... but would've have to pay double shipping, and plus I live in Israel...so its a hassle to get it from America in the first place.

You should be able to record on all ipods. 5th generation and up have built in microphones, but you are able to purchase a microphone for the earlier generation ipods. Double check with an apple store: they have great employees and customer service!

I'm also looking for an mp3 player, debating between the Sansa Clip and the Sony Walkman. I'm a bit wary of Sansa b/c I started off w/Sansas but they kept breaking. I had an iPod, but it's not working, don't want to spend that kind of money right now.

Sony Walkman? lol -- I didn't realize they recycled their cassette player name!

The Clip is on a great sale on Amazon. I have a Fuze+ that has lasted me a couple of years (and it was marked as a refurbished one, even).

I ended up getting it from B&H for about the same price (had to pay taxes) I guess it's better I bought it from a Jewish company
