What is the most gracious way to turn down a Shabbos invitation? It's very cold and our little kids just won't make it through the walk at night.

I might also turn the invite to them, like, "oh I don't think our kids can walk that far in cold weather, but why don't you come to us?"
or try to "schedule" something for warmer weather.
