My best friend just had her first (it's a girl) and I want to get her an extra special present.
What're some unique ideas that she won't likely get from others but will be so appreciative of and do not cost too much

I think a gift voucher for professional pictures is a fantastic idea... (if there is such thing?)

my best friend gave me a memory bok from Nordstrom- it's a book with diff mempries and spaces for pictures that go along with each memory (I.e. baby's first tooth, or bathtime etc)
its about $30-40 (and Nordstrom is on sale today)
