Anyone have a simple recipe with cooking time for beef goulash/stew in a crockpot? would leave on low whole day, was thinking to put in beef stew meat, potatoes, onions and sweet potatoes.
TIA!

This recipe is really simple. Just throw everything in the crockpot and you're good.
Crock Pot Beef Stew
• 1 package beef stew meat
• 1 package flanken with marrow bones (or 2 packs of one type of meat)
• 1-2 sweet potatoes
• 3-4 potatoes
• 1 large onion
• 3 tablespoons oil
• 2 carrots
• 2 parsnips
• 1 cup ketchup
• 1 cup water
• 4 spoonfulls onion soup mix
• 3 spoonfulls crushed garlic
• 1 teaspoon paprika
• 1 tablespoon honey
• ½ teaspoon salt
Cut up onion and place on the bottom of the crock pot with oil. Peel and cut potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, and parsnips and place in pot. Add meat to pot. In a bowl combine ketchup, water, onion soup mix, crushed garlic, paprika, honey, and salt. Pour into pot and stir. Add water to cover stew. Cook on high for 5-6 hours or on low for 10-12 hours.

Red potato, stewing beef, onion, garlic, cayenne pepper, salt, honey and a very small amount of water. Dump it all in and let it cook on low for 6-7 hours.

I made a yummy stew a couple of days ago. Cubed potatoes and sweet potatoes(with skin on), goulash cubes, onions, carrot chunks, cup of red wine, salt, pepper. Put on high for 5 hours. It was delicious and so easy.

ra-mom what do you use for chicken broth? Also can you omit the flour or thats what makes the meat more tender?

I freeze some of my extra shabbos chicken soup. You can use water instead and it is still delicious but it is better with the chicken soup.
The flour is what makes a nice gravy. Use 1/4 cup with 2 lbs. of beef cubes.

This sounds delicious. Do you have to brown or cook the meat at all before putting it in the crock pot?
Also, is this good for shabbos day? When do you put up the crock pot?
