DH has these black stains on the back of his shirts. We figured it is probably from his belt. How do I get these stains out? They don't come out easily w/ stain remover.

Rit Color Remover is amazing. Follow the directions. You will need to boil up a large pot and submerge the garment.

The RIT color removal sounds interesting.
I am apologizing for my ignorance, I've always steered pretty clear of bleach, but these shirts are so bad that I might consider it. How do you wash clothes w/ bleach? Does it go into a compartment on my machine? Do I soak the shirts separately in a bucket?

You can try oxiclean. I make a paste of the powder & water. First I put oxiclean on the stain & then spritz water (using a spritz bottle) to make a paste. Leave it on several hours or overnight. Rinse off & check the stain. Sometimes I have to repeat making the oxiclean paste but it's worth doing because it usually totally removes the stain.
Good luck.
