Incidentally from the "similar topics" I just spotted below this post, this has been done before. No complaints, just suggesting a resource for you.

Stratego
Candyland
Chutes and Ladders

Guess Who today is different from what it used to be. Read the reviews on Amazon before you buy. It uses pictures of animals, not people. Seems a bit weird.

And it's not the only classic game that's changed. I don't understand why the world feels the need to ruin perfectly good things. I'm going to guard my old Guess Who zealously now. Maybe laminate the cards... SIGH.
I HATE the new Candyland. First of all I've seen some versions use a spinner instead of cards, which makes the candy spots pure decoration and takes that whole element of surprise out of the game. Secondly, the board design is so overstuffed and psychedelic. The old one is so tame. The new one can probably GIVE you a vision disorder.
Sheesh.
If your kids love Stratego but are looking for something different, Ticket to Ride seems like the same personality in a very different format.

I agree with you Seeker
The new Candyland and Chutes N Ladders are made so cheaply and such small junky boards...
I'm actually going to look on Ebay for older versions of different board games... they're so much better
Why did they ruin so many games??

The new ones are pure junk and don't last. I tend to go for card games for the same price range as they don't fall apart as easily (as long as you keep it away from babies ), sigh.
We just got Ticket to Ride since my boys love Stratego. Plan on taking it out Shabbos Chanukah.
Much more expensive than Chutes and Ladders, but it will last way, way longer.

Is Ticket To Ride as intense as Monopoly?
I can't see my kids liking Monopoly yet but they loove Stratego.
I myself also love Stratego but don't usually have the patience for Monopoly.
Ticket To Ride looks cool online... Just want to make sure they'll like it... It's not cheap
